Girl on the Run is run & owned by Jacqui Cliff, a long lover of the 40’s & 50’s lifestyle.
The fashions of the 40’s and 50’s have always appealed to me. We love the glamour, suaveness & sophistication of these era’s, as well as the pin-up beauties.
Girl on the Run was born from a 1958 private detective film starring Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., Erin O’Brien and Edd Byrnes. We have always loved the Golden movie era with such stars as Erin O’Brien, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire, Audrey Hepburn & Marilyn Monroe, music from the likes of Glen Miller, the Rat Pack boys & Elvis Presley, the romance of lifestyle during & after WWII and last but not least the then secret world of Pin Up Beauties such as Betty Page & Betty Grable. Today we look at Dita Von Tease for this inspiration.
It is the objective of Girl on the Run to promote British products. “Where possible we are sourcing our products from the UK, supporting British manufacturers who can supply quality and excellent customer service,”. The 40’s & 50’s inspired clothing and accessories, along with our Pin-up Lingerie are made from quality materials and cut to fit like a dream giving you the figure we all associate with the 40’s & 50’s.
40’s & 50’s vintage and retro style clothing is a growing niche market. It is something we have loved for many years and so proud of what we have achieved so far. But we are not stopping here we have more exciting plans for the future of Girl on the Run.
